Cristina Delgado is a Mexican artist, animator and illustrator based in Mexico City.
Her fresh and unrehearsed style comes from a background in fashion sketching, which she learned during her degree in Textile Design. Both her grandmother who was a fashion designer, and her mother who is a painter, passed on the necessary genes for Cristina to be curious and imaginative and were a source of inspiration for her career as an artist.
She enjoys creating art that feels spontaneous, but at the same time conveys sentiments of tranquility. Nowadays her work depicts everyday life scenes that invite the observer to feel that time ceases to exist.
“I love storytelling, the silent type, and for me art -painting in particular- portrays exactly this; moments that are paused forever in time. One form of storytelling that inspires me the most are films. Especially the ones that have in between mundane moments that function as bridges between eventful scenes. They feel carefree and eternal and that’s how I want my work to be perceived as.”
